Nya tripsfynd (Thysanoptera) i den svenska faunan
Nyckelord:
Thysanoptera, new species in Sweden, thripsAbstract
Despite their small size (typically 1–3 mm), thrips (Thysanoptera) play significant ecological roles as pollinators, herbivores, fungal feeders, and predators of small arthropods. The Swedish thrips fauna has been the focus of increased taxonomic research in recent years. However, knowledge gaps remain, particularly regarding the distribution and ecological interactions of certain species. This study presents new findings of thrips species in Sweden, including the first national records of Aeolothrips manteli Titschack, 1962 (Aeolothripidae), Pseudophilothrips varicornis (Hood, 1912) and Treherniella inferna (Priesner, 1922) (Phlaeothripidae). Several species have also been newly recorded in Swedish provinces, expanding our understanding of their distribution patterns. The results confirm the presence of previously unrecorded species in Sweden and provide new provincial records, highlighting the importance of continued faunistic surveys.
