The winter gnat subgenus Trichocera (Staryia) Krzemińska & Gorzka 2016 (Insecta, Nematocera, Trichoceridae) in Sweden, with description of a variant of T. (Saltrichocera) annulata Meigen, 1818

Abstract

All species of the subgenus Trichocera (Staryia) Krzemińska & Gorzka 2016 found in Sweden are presented with detailed collecting information. The female of Trichocera (Saltrichocera) annulata Meigen, 1818 forma staryoides with characters as in the subgenus Staryia, is described. Phenology and habitat of the Swedish species are briefly summarized. An important collector, Karl Müller, of winter gnats in northern Sweden is briefly presented.
