Entomologmötet 2025, 27-29 juni i Strömsholm, Västmanland
Abstract
During the weekend 27-29th of June, forty-five entomologists from across Sweden gathered for the 35th Swedish Entomology Meeting. The meeting was held in the nature reserve Strömsholm in Västmanland, a historically important site for entomology studies known for its high number of threatened species associated with old-growth deciduous trees, particularly oak and linden. In addition to pleasant encounters and conversations with fellow entomologists, both day and night-time excursions yielded several notable records of insects, including the first Scandinavian record of Agrilus obscuricollis, the nationally unique Camponotus fallax, the rare bark beetle Colydium filiforme and additional rare species associated to Biscogniauxia cinereolilacina on old linden trees. In total, over 500 insect species, including nearly 40 red-listed, were noticed - a valuable updated insight into the area’s insect fauna. The hosts from Dalarna and Västmanland extend their sincere thanks to the participants for contributing to a successful event, and we look forward to the next meeting in Stockholm 2026.
