Abstract

Three species of long legged flies (Diptera: Dolichopodidae) are reported new for Sweden. Medetera caeruleifacies Naglis & Negrobov, 2014, was recorded in the province of Småland, wheras Rhaphium brevicorne Curtis, 1835 and Sciapus contristans (Wiedemann, 1817) were recorded in Scania, southernmost part of Sweden. All were collected in 2022. We also present new provincial records for three rare and red-listed species, Hercostomus chetifer (Walker, 1849) NT, new to Västergötland, Medetera tenuicauda Loew, 1857 NT, new to Halland, and Tachytrechus ocior Loew, 1869 DD, new to Dalarna.
