Abstract

The mason bee Hoplitis adunca (Panzer, 1798) was recorded new to Sweden in June 2022 in Landskrona, Scania, southernmost Sweden. At least eight individuals of H. adunca were recorded close to an old railway station near Echium vulgare, the plant it is associated with. The ecology of the species is briefly presented along with some characteristics separating H. adunca from its sibling species H. anthocopoides (Schenck, 1853).
