Abstract

The ash whitefly Siphoninus phillyreae was recorded for the first time in Scandinavia. The species was collected on ash in a small city park close to the center of Lund, and in the Botanical gardens, Lund and Alnarp, Scania, southernmost Sweden. This paper also presents notes on biology and morphology of whiteflies, and the differences between the two Siphoninus Silvestri species in Sweden, S. immaculatus (Heeger) and S. phillyreae (Haliday).
