The Southern Oak Bush-cricket Meconema meridionale (Costa, 1860) is currently expanding northwards in Western Europe. The first confirmed record for Sweden was made on August 29, 2024. One female and one male of the Southern Oak Bush-cricket was observed in an urban part of Malmö in Scania, Sweden. We suspect the species has colonized Sweden with the help of vehicles.
